This is a story about a person who always does what’s right and has the best morals. He is the kind of person who would do anything for anyone to help them out.
On Oct. 3, Jeff started his day just like every other day. He got up early and went to work. I had texted him to see if he wanted to come to Red Deer to play poker at my house that night. He said he was driving to Olds to see a friend and he would stop in after that.
On his way, he was driving on Hwy 2 in the area of the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. He saw a fire on the side of the road and he stopped. He called my roommate to get the number of the fire station but Jimmy couldn’t find it. So Jeff figured he should try and put it out before it got any bigger. Luckily, he had a fire extinguisher in his Jeep. He got most of the fire out before the extinguisher ran out. The little bit of smouldering grass he put out by stomping on it.
The peace officer finally arrived and then the fire truck got there.
I just think the world needs more people like Jeff Kryger.
And people, don’t throw your cigarettes out the window of your vehicle. That’s what probably started the fire!
