I am confused about the whole issue of power transmission lines in Alberta.
Electricity distribution was privatized by the Ralph Klein government, so I thought the power companies would build, repair and/or replace power lines when required.
So why is the government involved other than to approve licensing for the requested construction?
Or is the Alberta government paying for these new power lines?
Will this same happen if more natural gas pipelines need to be built in Alberta?
I just do not understand why there is so much confusion, but I do think the Stelmach government is heavy handed on this matter without a clear explanation to the average Albertan like myself.
