Doctors group launches online tool

The Canadian Medical Association has launched an online tool aimed at helping diabetics and their doctors to better keep on top of the chronic disease.

TORONTO — The Canadian Medical Association has launched an online tool aimed at helping diabetics and their doctors to better keep on top of the chronic disease.

The site — part of mydoctor.ca — allows patients to share blood sugar readings and other diabetes-related information with their physicians in a secure online environment.

“The new diabetes tool in the health portal puts into action the CMA’s vision to empower patients to take more control of their health,” the organization’s president, Dr. Robert Ouellet, said Tuesday. “Finding more efficient ways to monitor chronic conditions will be key to building a health-care system responsive to patients’ needs.”
