Good-bye Centre 5010; hello Collins Barrow Centre.

The eight-storey building at 5010 43rd St. underwent a change of identity last month after chartered accounting firm Collins Barrow obtained naming rights from the property’s owner.

“We wanted to just get our name out there,” said Colleen Sharp, a partner with the Red Deer firm. “We don’t think people really know who Collins Barrow is.”

Rob Kolton, another partner with the firm, offered a similar explanation in a news release.

“Naming the building is part of our strategy to tell our story. We are one of the largest accounting, tax and advisory service providers in the city and we want to ensure that we are not the city’s best kept secret.”

Collins Barrow occupies the third and fourth floors of the building. It has about 65 staff there, including its nine partners, said Sharp.
