Two men exit the new dental office in the 32nd Street Crossing business centre Tuesday. Construction of strip mall is now complete with only four bays available for lease.

A nearly 26,000-square-foot commercial centre built recently in south Red Deer is down to a handful of vacant bays.

A convenience store is the latest tenant to commit to 32nd Street Crossing, which is located at 4758 32nd St. — the former site of the Red Deer County headquarters. Brett Salomons, an associate with the building’s leasing agent, Ralph Salomons Commercial Inc., said he can’t provide details about the convenience store but expects leasehold improvements on the bays it will occupy to begin shortly.

Already operating in the building are The Breathing Room yoga studio and Cornerstone Dental Group. A pharmacy and another tenant that Salomons simply identified as “medical use” have also committed to the building, and a family medical clinic with up to eight doctors from The Parsons Clinic is slated to open next summer.

Four units remain, said Salomons. These are separated by fire walls, which has prevented them from being combined into larger bays

“I’ve had to turn people away because the square footage is too small for them.”

32nd Street Crossing faces 49th Avenue and is bordered by 32nd Street to the south and 33rd Street to the north. It was developed by Fran Ding.
