The former owner of Cooper Canada is returning to Red Deer to share his business insights.

Donald Cooper will be in the city Oct. 7 and 8 as part of a tour through seven communities in the province. A member of the Canadian Speaking Hall of Fame, the Toronto resident will present on the theme Accelerate Your Business.

Cooper Canada once employed more than 2,500 people. Cooper left the family business 1981 to operate a chain of women’s exercise and casual wear stores.

He subsequently won a number of marketing and service innovation awards in connection with that venture.

Cooper presented in Red Deer last September at a workshop organized by the Central Alberta Economic Partnership. This time, he is being brought here by the regional development branch of Alberta Finance and Enterprise, and Creating Pathways for Entrepreneurial Families — a project of the Alberta Business Family Institute.
