Praxair Canada Inc. has purchased the assets and operations of five Airgas locations in Western Canada, including one in Red Deer.
The other locations are in Calgary, Edmonton, Regina and Saskatoon. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Airgas Inc. is the largest American distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases, and carries various other related products.
“This strategic divestiture enables us to redeploy capital resources to our core business in British Columbia, where we look forward to serving our loyal customers for years to come,” said Edward Richards, North Pacific region president of Airgas.
Praxair Inc. is the largest industrial gases company in North and South America, and one of the largest worldwide. It produces, sells and distributes atmospheric and process gases and high-performance surface coatings.
