The Central Alberta Realtors Association is reporting that last month was its second busiest June ever, and the fourth highest sales month for the region on record.

It said that 598 homes were sold through the Multiple Listing Service in June, up 14 per cent from the same month a year ago. Provincewide, MLS sales activity was also up 14 per cent.

Halfway through the year, MLS sales in Central Alberta are about 13 per cent ahead of last year’s pace.

That makes the January-to-June period of 2014 the best six months to start a year since 2007.

New listings in June numbered 1,018 — up five per cent from a year ago and the highest figure ever for a June.
