A man who went from being a homeless panhandler to CEO of the Second Cup coffee shop chain will share his story in Red Deer next week.

Frank O’Dea, who co-founded Second Cup and started several other businesses and charitable groups, will speak at the Festival of Trees Business Lunch on Nov. 22. Currently the Chair of the Royal Roads University Foundation, O’Dea serves on the boards of a number of private and non-profit organizations.

In addition to speaking about his experiences, O’Dea has detailed them in a book called When All You Have is Hope.

Tickets for the Festival Business Lunch, which will take place at Westerner Park’s Prairie Pavilion, cost $50 each.
