Garth Dushanek knows he’ll be making at least one trip to the front of the room at next Saturday’s Awards of Excellence in Housing banquet.
Beyond that, the outcome of the annual awards presentation of the Canadian Home Builder’s Association — Central Alberta Region, is anyone’s guess.
Dushanek is president of Asset Builders, the association’s 2010 Builder of the Year in the large volume category. For 2011, Asset Builders is a finalist in five award categories, including Best New Multi Family Home — Apartment Style under $199,000, in which Asset Builders entries are the only two finalists.
Sorento Custom Homes leads this year’s field with eight entries among the finalists. Falcon Homes and Platinum Homes have six each; Landmark Homes Red Deer and Larkaun Homes have five; Abbey Master Builder, Laebon Homes and Bowood Homes have four; Havan Built Homes and Homestead Custom Carpentry three; and Unique Elevations, True-Line Homes and Glennstar Homes are finalists in one category each.
