Canada’s legendary anarchist band D.O.A. intends to unleash a musical “Blitzkrieg” on Saturday at Murph’s Pub and Grill in Red Deer.

The hardcore punk group that’s on a 30-date, two-continent tour this fall across North America and into Brazil and Argentina, isn’t known for shying away from political causes.

Founding member, singer/guitarist Joey ‘S---head’ Keithley has adopted the slogan “talk minus action equals zero.” And over the years, his Vancouver band has been active on anti-racism, anti-globalization, freedom of speech, and the environment.

More recently, Keithley is promoting a new book, predictably called Talk - Action = 0, An Illustrated History. Among its thousand-plus images are posters, photos, album covers, and narrated details about the band and its politics.

For more information about the local D.O.A. concert at 5020 47th Ave, call 403-341-6397.
