32nd street closure Saturday

Red Deer motorists are advised to avoid a short section of 32nd Street on Saturday morning.

Red Deer motorists are advised to avoid a short section of 32nd Street on Saturday morning.

The city’s public works department will be removing trees to accommodate road widening on the street’s westbound lanes between 47th and 49th Avenues.

Crews plan to close the road at 7 a.m. and hope to have it reopened by noon. Road widening is part of an extensive project to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection of 32nd Street and Gaetz Avenue.

Improvements include creating an environment that is friendlier to pedestrians and cyclists. Please visit www.reddeer.ca/roadclosures for details.
