50th anniversary celebration for Red Deer’s 41 Signal Regiment set for Saturday

A 50th anniversary celebration for the 41 Signal Regiment 2 Squadron Red Deer, along with a statue unveiling, is set for April 27.

The event, hosted by Calgary Military Family Resource Centre will include a BBQ, face painting for kids, yard games, and displays of military equipment.

A statue symbolizing the dedication and service of the 41 Signal Regiment 2 Squadron over the past five decades will also be unveiled.

The event starts at 12 p.m., with speeches and the statue unveiling at 2 p.m.

“Join us in celebrating this significant milestone for 41 Signal Regiment 2 Squadron Red Deer,” said Barbara Pohl, Executive Director of Calgary Military Family Resource Centre.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, express gratitude, and honour the contributions of our Canadian Armed Forces members – whether that is being deployed over-seas or combatting natural disasters here at home.”

Mayor Ken Johnson, Councillor Lawrence Lee, MLA Jason Stephan, Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel Tara Veer, and Assistant Deputy Chief Evan Stewart of Red Deer Emergency Services will all be in attendance.

The event will be held at the Cormack Armoury, 4402 55 Street.
