A little off the nose

Becki Oberg of Red Deer gives Missy a shave before the mare was shown by owner Harriet Van Der Giessen at the Wild Rose Quarter Horse Show Wednesday. The annual event which runs through Sunday at Westerner Park has drawn about 160 entries into its halter, lunge line, western pleasure and hunter classes. A special feature is the National Reining Horse Association event Saturday night. The public welcome to attend with competition running from about 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
