Kidnapped Canadian journalist Amanda Lindhout says she fears she will die in captivity in Somalia if she doesn’t get help soon.
In a phone call to Canada’s OMNI TV on Monday Lindhout, 28, said that after spending almost a year shackled in a dark room her mental and physical health are ailing.
She complained of fever, dysentery, severe stomach problems and an abscessed tooth.
In her teary call Lindhout asked her family to deal directly with her captors and begged Ottawa to pay a $1-million ransom.
Lindhout has made similar pleas in the past.
