An RCMP officer carries an alleged car thief’s jacket and his accomplice’s purse as he is taken into custody outside the south Canadian Tire store Wednesday. A woman was arrested outside the nearby Rona store after the pair are alleged to have stolen a truck near Pine Lake earlier in the day. City members were alerted by Red Deer Rural RCMP that a newer model truck had been stolen just after 2 p.m. from Race Track Fuel at Pine Lake. The truck caught the attention of a Red Deer RCMP Traffic Services officer at 19th Street and Taylor Drive when it ran through two red lights before turning into the parking lot at the Rona store. The two occupants, a man and a woman, fled into the neighbouring Canadian Tire and Rona stores. Both suspects are being held in custody pending further investigation.
