Aspire Child Development Centre is celebrating 40 years of serving children with diverse needs and their families with a drop-in event for supporters on May 1 to recognize the day its doors opened in 1985.
Aspire has grown from a single program to serving over 1,000 individuals annually through a range of specialized services.
“Stop in between 1 and 4 p.m., say hello and enjoy a sweet treat,” said Megan Fitzpatrick, event and donor relations co-ordinator at Aspire, in a statement about the drop-in event.
“Our friends at Cafe Millennium will also sell Aspire-themed cookies from May 1 until supplies last, and one hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Aspire Child Development Centre.”
Central Albertans will also have an opportunity to honour the centre's anniversary by attending Aspire's signature fundraising gala Evening of Decadent Dessert on Oct. 2.
“This year's event will be bigger and better than ever – a true celebration of our commitment to the community. Watch for extravagant cakes, amazing live auction packages and more,” Fitzpatrick said.
The Aspire Children’s Raffle plus 50/50 Draw returns with enhanced prizes to commemorate 40 years of service. The grand prize winner will take home their choice of one of four vehicles including a Dodge Hornet GT, Jeep Wrangler Sport, Fiat 500e BEV or a Jeep Compass Sport. The second prize is a sapphire tennis bracelet valued at $6,295, and the third prize has doubled to $4,000 cash. The 50/50 draw jackpot has been increased to $40,000, with the winner taking home up to $20,000.
Tickets go on sale on May 1, with winners drawn live at Evening of Decadent Dessert.
“Celebrating forty years is more than a milestone – it’s a reflection of the incredible relationships that have shaped Aspire’s journey,” Fitzpatrick said.
“To the families we’ve had the privilege to support, our passionate team and our deeply invested community – thank you. Your trust, commitment, and encouragement have made this journey possible. We look forward to the future with gratitude and a renewed commitment to serving Central Alberta with excellence.”
