Bearspray used on witnesses during Red Deer bank robbery

Red Deer RCMP are looking for a man who used bear spray on witnesses during a robbery at a TD Bank branch on Sunday.

At about 3 p.m., a man entered the bank, at 6320 50th Ave., and demanded money from the tellers.

He discharged bear spray in the bank and fled on foot heading south and into the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood.

Witnesses hit by the bear spray were treated on scene by Red Deer Emergency Medical Services.

Red Deer RCMP are not saying whether the robber made off with any money.

The suspect is described as slim to medium build, between 18 and 39 years old, with a fair complexion.

He was wearing a grey hoodie with Canadian flags on the front and back, black shoes and light-coloured blue jeans.
