Blackfalds RCMP make stolen vehcilce arrests

Two people have been arrested for possession of stolen vehicles near Blackfalds.

Around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, RCMP spotted a Ford 350 truck on RR 273, which had previously reported stolen out of Ponoka.

A 30-year-old man attempted to flee on foot before being arrested without further incident.

A short time after, RCMP responded to a suspicious person complaint at Princess Auto in Gasoline Alley. Police were looking for three individuals in a white Nissan Pathfinder.

Police located the SUV traveling west on Mackenzie Road where it continued west through the intersection and collided with a northbound minivan on Hwy 2A.

The 27-year-old female driver of the SUV attempted to force her way into another motorist’s vehicle before being arrested. The SUV had been stolen from Blackfalds earlier in the day.

Both people involved in the collision were transported to hospital with minor injures.

Police do not believe the two incidents are related.

Charges are pending.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information on this incident to contact Blackfalds RCMP at 403-885-3300. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477.
