A 45-year-old Bowden man is dead following a two-vehicle collision on Hwy 587 north of Bowden on Sunday.
Innisfail RCMP say that around 3 p.m., a small pickup truck was heading west on Hwy 589, just west of Hwy 2, when it crossed the centre line and collided with an eastbound semi-tractor trailer.
Richard Sorensen, 45, of Bowden died at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.
An autopsy is pending through the Calgary Medical Examiner’s Office.
The cause of the collision is under investigation. Neither speed nor road conditions are believed to have been factors.
