Chartered buses are being organized for people who want to take part in a province-wide Stand Up for Publice Health Care rally at the Alberta Legislature on Saturday (May 9).

Red Deer organizer Ken Collier, chair of the Alberta Friends of Medicare, says several organizations and communities have put transport plans together so people can demonstrate their support for universal health care.

Seats are being made available by first-come, first-served, with donations accepted to help offset the costs. Anyone who wishes to catch the tour is asked to call the Calgary co-ordinator, 403-286-9283. Buses from Calgary are set to pick up in Red Deer at 11 a.m. at the southeast corner of the Bower Place Shopping Centre, where Bennett Street meets Barrett Drive.
