Central Alberta Lip Sync Battle raises over $200k for Outreach Centre

Eighth annual event was a huge success

The 8th annual Lip Sync Battle has once again delivered for The Outreach Centre.

The annual event raised a record $210,269.91.

“Our hearts are full. The success of our 8th annual Lip Sync Battle is a huge win for our community,” said Bonnee Gregg, who helped organize the event alongside Brandy Roberts.

“The first show back in 2017 made $10,000 and it is truly remarkable to see how the event has grown, raising over $200,000 this year. We will be celebrating the success of this show for many months to come.”

Competitors collected pledges ahead of the event and then took the stage to lip sync their hearts out, battling for the coveted first place trophy, and of course, bragging rights. The performances provided a night of joy, laughter and entertainment. Dr. Brian Isaac secured the most donations of all the competitors, with more than $44,000 raised.

Funds raised from the Lip Sync Battle went towards the many programs and services offered at The Outreach Centre, including the Adopt a Family program.

This year, a record 223 families and 485 children were served through the program.

“The Lip Sync Battle not only provides a fun and entertaining way to generate funds, but it also serves as a platform for raising awareness about the social challenges facing our community,” said Ian Wheeliker, Executive Director of The Outreach Centre.

“It is inspiring to see people rally together for an important cause, ensuring that families in need receive the support and assistance they require, especially during the holiday season.”
