Shawna Wilnechenko, the Salvation Army’s family services coordinator, readies Christmas kettles in the social organization’s Red Deer office Wednesday. The kettle campaign kicks off Friday night at the Red Deer Rebels versus Swift Current Broncos game though kettles will appear around the city earlier in the day. Locations include both city malls, Canadian Tire and Wal-Mart stores as well as Superstore, Deer Park Co-op, East Hill Save On Foods and in December, Costco. Volunteers to staff kettles are still needed and those interested in helping out can call 403-346-2251.
