The 53 Street and 47 Avenue intersection will be closed from May 6-21 as water main replacements are installed, the City of Red Deer has announced.
The city noted that 47 Avenue, between 55 Street and 53 Street, has already been closed since early April.
Motorists are advised to detour the intersection via 45 Avenue and 48 Avenue; 55 Street will be unaffected. Motorists are asked to obey all signs and use extra caution while crews are present.
"Please find an alternate route if possible," a city media release stated.
