Red Deer City RCMP are investigating an attempted murder after a 32-year-old man was shot while in a downtown apartment early this morning during a home invasion.
Police were called to an apartment building at 47th Avenue and 55th Street where Red Deer Emergency Services personnel were treating a man for gunshot wounds.
RCMP have confirmed this was a targeted attack and the public is not at risk. Police are searching for several suspects identified to police.
The victim is in stable condition in hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
