A track hoe operator deposits a load of boulders into the Red Deer River as an on-water survey crew takes measurements of the river in Red Deer this week. The work is taking place on the river between the Taylor Bridge and the rail bridge as the city constructs a new water intake and screen building. The City of Red Deer is asking boaters, rafters, fishermen and other river users to use caution in these areas and to keep away from construction equipment and the site. Pedestrians and trail users are also asked to keep away from the worksite. The bike path on the south side of the river will remain closed until it is safe.
