Severe cold temperatures greeted Central Albertans as they woke Tuesday morning. With the mercury showing -36C early this morning it was only two degrees warmer then the record cold temperature of -38.9C recorded on this date in 1972. The forecast for the rest of the week calls for warmer conditions but still well below average high temperature of -1.4C.
