The Mac’s Convenience Store in the 2800 block of Ross Street in Red Deer was robbed early Monday by a man brandishing a firearm.

The Mac’s Convenience Store in the 2800 block of Ross Street in Red Deer was robbed early Monday by a man brandishing a firearm.

Red Deer City RCMP responded to the armed robbery at 2:52 a.m in the Eastview area.

A man had entered the store with the firearm, demanding cigarettes from the clerk. The clerk complied with the demands and the suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cigarettes.

Police made patrols for the suspect but he was not located.

The suspect had concealed his face using a tan-coloured bandana. Although the description is limited, the male is described as wearing a dark-coloured hoodie with a plaid pattern, carrying a dark-coloured duffle bag.

Red Deer City RCMP continue to investigate the incident.
