The owner of Hempnstuff Exotic Boutique was fined $2,500 after pleading guilty to one count of possession of hashish, one count of unsafe storage of a firearm and prohibitive storage of gun powder.

David Glenn Elliott, 46, was originally charged with one count of uttering a threat, two counts of possession of marijuana and 13 counts of unsafe firearm storage.

Most of the charges were withdrawn by Crown prosecutor Jason Snider in Red Deer provincial court on Wednesday after the Crown and defence lawyer Richard Fritze presented the court with a joint sentencing submission.

Charges were laid last summer after police investigated an alleged threat that involved the use of firearms.

While executing a search warrant, police seized over 100 firearms, including pistols, rifles, shotguns and antique firearms.
