The Festival of Trees gala evening, sponsored by Jack and Joan Donald, is an invite-only event for platinum and silver sponsors that includes a meal and live and silent auction.

The 16th Annual Festival of Trees, held at the Westerner, will see money raised this year go towards the creation of a new Colorectal Screening Clinic.

Since 1994, almost $5.8 million has been raised and used to purchase equipment for the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.

The Festival of Trees continues through the weekend with special ticketed events each day.

The event is open to the general public on Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
