A Lacombe-area man has pleaded guilty in Red Deer provincial court to indecently assaulting three males more than 30 years ago.

Mark Archibald, 56, will be sentenced on Feb. 17 after pleading guilty to three charges of indecent assault on Wednesday. The former youth pastor is not in custody.

Archibald was originally charged with three counts each of indecent assault and gross indecency. No pleas were entered on the gross indecency charges, which will be addressed when Archibald returns to court.

Archibald was in his early 20s at the time of the incidents that occurred in Calgary and the Gull Lake between Jan. 1, 1978, and Dec. 31, 1979. The three victims were younger.

Archibald resigned as chief administrative officer of the Lacombe Foundation in June. The offences had no connection with his employment at the foundation, which provides affordable housing for low-income families and seniors.
