Foul play is not suspected in the death of a 26-year-old woman whose body was found near the Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Red Deer.

The death is not considered suspicious, but police do not plan to release any more information on the cause of the death, said RCMP Const. Sabrina Grunow Tuesday. The woman was not from Red Deer, but police aren’t releasing her hometown.

The woman’s body was found by a passerby about 5:40 p.m. Monday in the wooded area between the Safeway downtown and the Greyhound bus station.

It isn’t known how long the body was at the location.

The body was sent to the medical examiner’s office, where it was to be determined if a medical autopsy was necessary.
