Four arrested after man severely beaten in downtown Red Deer

Four suspects arrested after a violent assault of a 33-year-old man in downtown Red Deer on Monday night have been charged.

The victim was allegedly stabbed, punched and kicked repeatedly by four suspects near the 5000 block of 49th Street at about 11:25 p.m.

Red Deer City RCMP allege that the victim and his 22-year-old girlfriend entered River Valley Apartments and were confronted by her ex-boyfriend and three of his friends.

“The female victim was pushed but did not require medical treatment for any injuries,” Cpl. Kathe DeHeer said on Wednesday, adding that they will not be releasing further details about the woman.

Victor Bricker, 20, of Red Deer has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and two counts of failing to comply with probation.

Cameron Coles, 26, of Red Deer has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace and three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

Joshua Severin, 18, of Red Deer is charged with one count of aggravated assault, assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

Morgan Riley, 18, of Red Deer is charged with aggravated assault and two counts of failing to comply with probation.

The victim remains in hospital.
