Four injured in serious accident

A serious accident in Red Deer on Thursday afternoon resulted on one person being sent by STARS to Edmonton hospital. City RCMP said at approximately 4:25 p.m. they responded to a three-vehicle collision on 19th Street and 40th Avenue.

A serious accident in Red Deer on Thursday afternoon resulted on one person being sent by STARS to Edmonton hospital.

City RCMP said at approximately 4:25 p.m. they responded to a three-vehicle collision on 19th Street and 40th Avenue.

A vehicle travelling eastbound on 19th Street collided with a vehicle traveling southbound on 40th Avenue.

A third vehicle was involved after the initial collision. A combined total of four people were in the vehicles.

Two people were attended to on scene by Red Deer Emergency Services and were released.

A third person was taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital by ambulance.

The fourth person, whose condition is believed to be serious, was evacuated by air ambulance to Edmonton. An RCMP collision analyst was called to the scene.

The eastbound lanes of 19th Street were closed while police investigated.
