Dress for Success Central Alberta has received funding to improve the capacity and efficiency of its inventory management system.

The organization announced Friday, May 16 it will receive funding from 100+ Women Who Care Red Deer, which is a network of women aiming to make an impact in Red Deer by supporting local nonprofit and charitable organizations.

In a media release, Dress for Success Central Alberta states "there is a great need" to improve how the organization manages clothing donations to best serve its clients.

"(Dress for Success Central Alberta) identified the need to reconfigure their inventory room to maximize its potential, increase the capacity to offer a wide selection of clothing to suit their clients’ diverse needs, and ensure functional storage," states the release.

In 2024 Dress for Success Central Alberta served 600 women, an increase from the 200 women served in 2023. The organization's flagship program, Dressing Services, helped more than 250 women have the opportunity to be dressed in professional attire for a job interview, work, or special suitings (this includes internships, work experience or court appearances).

The number of women Dress for Success Central Alberta serves has greatly increased, while the inventory dispersed in the last two years has tripled.

"Thanks to this funding, Dress for Success Central Alberta will be able to improve their inventory management system and better serve their clients," the media release notes.
