Troy Anweiler, left, and Bob Thomson from CTC Energy Services make phone calls to raise money for their bail as they take part in the Canadian Cancer Society’s 14th Annual Jail-N-Bail fundraiser at Parkland Mall on Wednesday. Some of Red Deer city residents were thrown in jail by friends, family and co-workers and then had to raise money for their own bail by calling friends and co-workers asking for pledges. This year’s fundraising goal is $66,000. The money will go into cancer research, supportive care, education, prevention initiatives, and advocacy. The event continues today from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
