Some of Red Deer city residents were thrown in jail by friends, family and co-workers and then had to raise money for their own bail by calling friends and co-workers asking for pledges. This year’s fundraising goal is $66,000. The money will go into cancer research, supportive care, education, prevention initiatives, and advocacy. The event continues today from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
