A GoFundMe is raising money for a Central Alberta family after an unexpected death.
Joel Sveinson, 39, died at Foothills Medical Centre in Caglary on March 13, leaving behind three daughters Skyler, Layla and Summer, and his wife Suzie.
The fundraising campaign Support for Suzie Sveinson & Her Three Girls has raised $30,000 as of Thursday afternoon, with the goal of collecting $35,000 to help ease the family's financial burden.
"Funeral costs, daily expenses, and the future needs of three growing daughters are overwhelming, and we want to ensure they have the stability and support they need during this time," the GoFundMe campaign said, launched by Lindsay Stoyberg and Carly Hansen.
"Joel was the heart of their family. He was an amazing father who poured his soul into raising his girls; always there to support them with love, laughter, and encouragement. He had a deep passion for the outdoors and loved taking his girls on adventures — whether it was skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, or simply exploring nature together. "
Sveinson worked as a millwright at NOVA Chemicals.
A Celebration of Joel’s Life will be held March 26, at CrossRoads Church, at 1:00 p.m.
