A 25-year-old man remains in critical condition in a Calgary hospital after being struck at an intersection in Johnstone Park early Thursday morning.

The pedestrian sustained serious, life-threatening injuries when he was hit by a south- bound pick-up truck as he was walking westbound from Jewell Street across Johnstone Drive. He was taken by ambulance to Red Deer hospital and was later airlifted by STARS to Calgary Foothills hospital.

The collision occurred at 6:35 a.m. The 24-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the truck was not injured in the accident. Police continue their investigation but have said that alcohol and road conditions are not believed to be factors in the accident.
