Innisfail RCMP arrest male who broke into assisted living facility

A 22-year-old Yukon resident was arrested on the weekend for attempting to break into Sunset Manor in Innisfail.

RCMP responded to the call around 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 10. They say a male suspect had broken into the supportive living facility by shattering the front glass door. Once inside, the male suspect assaulted a nurse and caused significant damage to the facility, including destroying furniture, electronics and Christmas decorations.

The suspect is facing three different charges including assault, break and enter and mischief over $5,000.

The 22-year-old was taken before a justice of the peace and released with his next court date set for Jan. 12, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
