Lacombe County is undertaking a business survey to help economic development efforts.

The online Business Retention and Expansion Survey is aimed at getting feedback from the business community so future economic development opportunities can be focused on local priorities.

“Launching our Business Retention and Expansion Survey marks a pivotal moment in our journey towards sustainable growth," said Lacombe County economic development officer Kerrie Taylor.

The survey is "crucial in shaping the road map for our community’s economic future," she said.

Results of the survey by Schollie Research and Consulting are expected to help the county to identify growth opportunities while aligning economic development efforts with the evolving needs of local businesses while fostering innovation and sustainable development.

The county will also use feedback to help make policy decisions that create a good business environment, promote entrepreneurship and attract investment.

The survey asks respondents to rate the county as a place to business. Another section asks more detailed questions about how the county stacks up based on factors including labour availability, cost of doing business, internet access and school and housing availability.

All county businesses are encouraged to participate in the survey that runs until May 24 and can be found on the county's website at lacombecounty.com.
