An Edmonton man is in custody after police employed several resources to capture a suspect wanted in a hit-and-run crash Thursday around noon.

Staff-Sgt. Gord Glasgow of Red Deer Rural RCMP detachment said police received a complaint about a two-vehicle crash in a parking lot at Ricky’s All Day Grill in Gasoline Alley on Hwy 2.

Police investigated and determined the 1991 pickup truck was reported stolen from the City of Edmonton.

The 21-year-old suspect fled on foot but was tracked down after a chase through the Gasoline Alley area.

Police used a dog team and RCMP members from Red Deer City detachment, Innisfail freeway patrol and rural members to arrest the suspect.

Glasgow said charges of possession of stolen property and resisting arrest are pending against the suspect,
