Man charged in seizure of drugs appears in court

A second man charged in relation to the seizure of about four kg each of magic mushrooms and pot made a brief appearance in Red Deer provincial court on Thursday.

Stephan Dylan Senetza, 26, was charged after police searched an apartment in the Red Deer community of Highland Green on Feb. 27. The apartment was searched following an investigation that arose two days earlier when it is alleged that police found magic mushrooms during a traffic stop in Red Deer.

Red Deer City RCMP allege that psylicibin mushrooms were seized after Shawn Bodnaruk, 24, of Kindersley, Sask., was pulled over for a minor traffic infraction.

Their investigation took them to the Highland Green apartment where it is alleged that the marijuana was found and seized.

Senetza and Bodnaruk have been released from custody and are to return to Red Deer provincial court on May 10 to enter pleas on charges of possessing illegal drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
