A man charged in a downtown stabbing death last August has been ordered to stand trial.
Blair Andrew Neill, 41, of Red Deer is charged with first-degree murder in connection with stabbing death of Nathan Casey.
A date for the trial has not yet been set.
This week a preliminary hearing was held in Red Deer provincial court to determine if there was enough evidence to warrant the accused stand trial in Court of Queen’s Bench.
On Aug. 26, police and emergency personnel were called to an altercation in the 4700 block on 54th Street of Red Deer and found the accused with a stab wound.
They later discovered Casey with a stab wound in a vehicle parked near 55th Street and 47th Avenue. He later died from his injury
Neill returns to court on June 1.
