Man dies in collision near Nordegg

A man died in a single-vehicle collision near Nordegg on Sunday after his truck went off the road and struck some trees.

A man died in a single-vehicle collision near Nordegg on Sunday after his truck went off the road and struck some trees.

The collision occurred at about 2:45 p.m., just west of Nordegg on Hwy 11.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP say the truck was westbound and crossed the centre line before it drove into an embankment and hit the trees.

The driver, who was in his 40s possibly from the Edmonton area, died at the scene before emergency crews arrived.

Police are still in the process of identifying the man.

There were no passengers in the vehicle.

Police say road conditions were in fair condition at the time of the crash.
