A 25-year-old Red Deer man has been sentenced to two years in prison for his part in an armed robbery of a Red Deer drug store.

Brian Jones was sentenced in Red Deer provincial court on Friday for his part in a robbery from the pharmacy at Sproule’s Mountainview IDA on Sept. 17, 2011.

Red Deer City RCMP said then that a man had entered the store, concealing his face and holding a knife. He approached the pharmacy counter and demanded drugs, then escaped in a waiting car.

Also charged with robbery is Amy Jaye Liverseed, 34, who police allege was driving the car.

A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 14 to determine whether her case will go to trial.
