Man wanted in stabbing incident turns himself in

A Red Deer man charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing on Sunday has turned himself into police.

A Red Deer man charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing on Sunday has turned himself into police.

Police were searching for the accused following the incident at the X-Static nightclub shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday.

A fight broke out between two men, aged 21 and 24, inside the club in the 4600 block of 50th Avenue, police said. A knife was pulled and the 24-year-old was stabbed an undisclosed number of times.

The victim was taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.

The two were known to each other, say police.

Eric Hebert, 21, turned himself into Leduc RCMP on Monday and remains in custody.
