The public are invited to join local Mounties and fire-medics for a Memorial March on Sunday Sept. 11.

Honour guards from Red Deer Emergency Services and the RCMP will be on the west steps of City Hall for the ceremony that takes place on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks.

The ceremony honours all firefighters and police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

It begins at 9:30 a.m. and will end about half an hour later. Wreaths of remembrance will be laid and flags in front of City Hall lowered to half staff.

A moment of silence will follow and the chaplain for Emergency Services will say a few words.

Those wishing to attend are asked to gather on the sidewalk near the northwest corner of City hall.
