Maskwacis RCMP lay aggravated assault charges

A 28-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assualt after a person was found stabbed last week.

On March 31, RCMP responded to a residence in the Samson Town Site where two adults were found with stab wounds following an earlier physical altercation.

After an Wetaskiwin/Maskwacis RCMP General Investigation Section with the Maskwacis Crime Reduction Unit investigation including the execution of two search warrants, RCMP identified and arrested a male and female suspect.

The 28-year-old man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and appeared in the Provincial Court in Wetaskiwinon Tuesday. The female who was initially identified as a suspect has been released with no charges.
