Men face trial in break-in, beating

Two men accused of breaking into a Red Deer home and then assaulting and robbing the man inside will go to trial in October.RCMP arrested Alexander Talbot, 20 and Rodney David Irvine, 42, at a residence near 79th Street and 50th Avenue after reports of a home invasion at about 4:15 a.m. on May 4.Remanded in custody since their arrest, Talbot and Irvine appeared in Red Deer provincial court on Tuesday to set a date for their trial.

RCMP arrested Alexander Talbot, 20 and Rodney David Irvine, 42, at a residence near 79th Street and 50th Avenue after reports of a home invasion at about 4:15 a.m. on May 4.

Remanded in custody since their arrest, Talbot and Irvine appeared in Red Deer provincial court on Tuesday to set a date for their trial.

They are to be tried together by judge alone in Red Deer provincial court on Oct. 30, represented by counsel Bradley Mulder for Talbot and Michael Scrase for Irvine.
