Ponoka RCMP have released new images of the suspect involved in the Thursday abduction of prominent Ponoka auctioneer Blair Vold.

The latest photographs are from the CIBC in Wetaskiwin and show the suspect using the victim’s bank cards approximately one hour after Vold escaped while the suspect used the stolen cards at the Lacombe Alberta Treasury Branch.

Vold, the owner of Vold, Jones and Vold Auction Co. Ltd., was kidnapped at gunpoint outside his Morningside-area home in what police are calling a targeted abduction.

He was forced into a vehicle and driven to Lacombe, where his kidnapper tried to get money from Vold’s bank account.

The hostage escaped from his abductor while the kidnapper was attempting to withdraw cash from the ATM, Ponoka RCMP said.

The victim ran into a gas station and called the Lacombe Police Service. At the same time, the suspect fled from the bank in a newer, silver four-door Chevrolet pickup truck.

The suspect is described as approximately six feet tall (1.82 metres), slender build with a white moustache and goatee.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ponoka RCMP at 403-783-4472 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
